I have had an order of 5 units FBA in pending status for more than a month now, Is there any way to check what is wrong, why has the order not been processed yet?

create a case with amazon, because if the product is being delivered by fba model, then amazon is responsible for the order.

Well!! Simply you can make a case with Amazon about this issue then Amazon will take a decision on the issue.
-
I think you cannot check that why the orders are still in pending status.

Make a case with Amazon, as they are in charge of the order if the product is being delivered under the fba model.

If an FBA order has been pending for a month, check inventory levels and product issues, and contact Amazon’s seller support team for assistance. It’s important to address pending orders promptly.
-
First, check if your inventory is available, also mostly an order is in pending if the payment is not cleared, so, in that case, you can contact with Amazon and do a case.

First of all, check your inventory. Sometimes, if you have just created a shipment and entered the tracking IDs, Amazon will activate your listing and the customer can place an order, but the order delivery date will be 1 to 2 months away, so if you have inventory in the Amazon warehouse and it is available for sale, then there may be a customer payment card issue. Amazon can’t verify the customer’s payment method, which is why it is showing in the pending status.

If an FBA order is pending for a month, check inventory status and order details, contact Amazon seller support for help, and consider canceling the order if necessary.
