In this term, the situation will be that the listing with a better rank will be used for ranking and the parent will have that ranking, for example, if you have a totally new listing and an old listing with good ranking and you merge them the ranking for the parent will be according to the old listing.

All depends upon the good reviews and rating, if a child has a good ranking then it can be merged with parent to show the collective ratings for the whole family.

Parent will hold the ranking for both ASINs. Now, both ASINs’ sales are combined, and their BSR will be the same. even if one ASIN is getting low sales and the other one has high sales. Due to the parent ASIN, their BSR will be the same.

The parent ASIN is actually nothing, it will hold the ranking of the child ASIN, so it depends largely on the ranking of child ASIN’s under that parent

If you merge the listings and the parent listing will contain all of the ASINs, the ranking will be the same for both ASINs even though your listing displays the same BSR and reviews for both ASINs even if one of your ASINs is getting lower sales.
