An error occurred during the field matching stage if you get the error code 8542. This occurs particularly when your product’s EAN number (European Article Number) already exists on Amazon but the title, brand, colour, and other details are still listed in your catalogue.

This error occurs when you have an issue with a title for fixing this error you need to update the title from the inventory file or delete the listing for 24 hours.

If you receive an error code 8541 or 8542, this means that there was an error in the field matching step. This happens especially when the EAN code (European Article Number) of your product already exists within Amazon but the other information present in your catalog (e.g. title, brand, color.

I think, Riz, you wanted to change any attribute of your specific ASIN, and due to this reason, this error is showing on your ASIN. Like you have now changed the size, colour, or anything else for this ASIN as compared to the value you have set in the past. If you are trying to resolve it manually, you will always see that error. So, I will suggest you update it through the “flat file,” and if the flat file gives you any errors, then you can call Amazon and give them the “batch id” of your flat file and tell them to update the value from their side.
